BOOK WALKING TOURS , CORSICA

The Corsican landscape is amongst the most dramatic in the Mediterranean. Mountain ridges and granite peaks soar to 2,700 metres and these and the dense 'maquis' create a rugged and harsh terrain, tempered by deeply wooded valleys, pine forest and cascading streams.

LODGES & CAMPING PARKS

BOOK HOLIDAY PARK , CROSSELBA LE PALME, ELBA, CORSICA

A first class parc in an exotic parkland setting, with superb facilities and direct access to a superbly clean, sandy beach. Rosselba le Palme enjoys a unique setting, nestling as it does amidst endlessly beautiful parkland full of rare, exotic palms and olive trees. Built overlooking the colourful harbour of Portoferraio, the parc's steep and mainly terraced pitches are reasonably small, but facilities here are excellent and include a superb swimming pool complex with waterslide, as well as tennis, table tennis and a lively animation programme in high season. Adjacent to the parc there is a small, clean beach, where you can sunbathe, swim or windsurf; while inland you will discover endless vine-covered hillsides, olive groves and picturesque, unspoilt villages: a visit to the lovely port of Marciana Marina is highly recommended.

BOOK VILLE DEGLI ULIVI: MARINA DI CAMPO, ELBA

Set in a lovely bay on its south coast, this parc enjoys one of the best beaches on the island. With the shimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean on the doorstep, Ville Degli Ulivi really is a wonderful parc for beach lovers and watersports enthusiasts. There's even a diving school, where equipment can be hired and boat trips booked to the island's many diving ranges. This highly attractive parc has an impressive pool complex complete with waterslides, while colourful flowers and fragrant olive and pine trees provide welcome shade to some pitches. In high season there is a typical Italian atmosphere on the parc, when it becomes quite lively, with entertainment for all the family every evening. Nearby, the small working harbour of Marina di Campo is well worth visiting, while a drive into the mountains will give you the chance to enjoy some superb views of the island.

Area Description
Mountainous Elba is the third largest Italian Island and has exceptionally clear water, fine white sand beaches and a lush wooded interior, superb for walking. Portoferraio is very much the capital, a characterful port town overlooked by a warren of old alleys. Elsewhere, Capoliveri and Porto Azzurro in the southeast and little Marciana in the west are definitely worth exploring.
